ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Condominium

Okay, imagine you live in a big building with lots of other people. Each person or family has their own home in the building, but they also share some things with everyone else, like hallways, elevators, and maybe a pool or a gym.

This type of living is called a condominium. It's like owning your own little piece of the big building, but also being part of a community with your neighbors. You have your own space that you can decorate and take care of, but you also have to follow some rules that everyone agrees on, like keeping common areas clean and not being too noisy.

You also have to pay a fee every month to help take care of the shared parts of the building, like fixing things that break or keeping the lawn trimmed. This fee is called a maintenance fee, and it's like everyone pitching in to make sure the building stays nice for everyone who lives there.

So, living in a condominium is a mix of having your own space and being part of a group of people who all take care of the building together.
