ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Convertible lens

Okay kiddo, have you ever played with a toy where you could change the way it looks by adding or taking away different parts? Like a puzzle where you can swap the pieces around to make new things? Well, that's kind of like what a convertible lens is for a camera.

So, a camera lens is the thing on the front that helps you take pictures. A regular lens is stuck in one shape and can't really be changed much. But a convertible lens can be taken apart and changed into different shapes to help you take different kinds of pictures.

You see, different lenses are good for different things. Like some are better for taking close-up shots of bugs or flowers, and some are better for taking pictures of far-away things like birds or mountains. So, if you have a camera with a convertible lens, you can switch it around to get the best view for whatever you're trying to take a picture of.

It's kind of like having a magic bag of lenses that you can swap in and out depending on what you need. And that's what makes a convertible lens pretty cool!
