ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Core dump

A core dump is what happens when your computer, or another piece of technology, freezes. The core dump is a collection of information that is stored on your device so that someone can use it to try to figure out what caused the freeze and how to fix it. It’s like a recording of all the things your computer or device was doing right before it stopped working.
