Cousin chart

A cousin chart shows how you’re related to your cousin, which is someone who has the same grandparents as you. All your grandparents have children and those children are your aunts and uncles. Your cousin is the child of one of these aunts or uncles.

If your cousin is the child of one of your parents’ siblings, it means you are first cousins. If your cousin’s parent is your aunt, then you are an aunt or uncle to your cousin’s children, and they are your first cousins once removed. If your cousin’s parent is your first cousin, then they are your second cousin. The chart goes on to show how distant or near your relationship is to your cousin.

So basically, a cousin chart helps you understand how your family members connect, and whether they are your close relatives or not.
