Crime in the United States

Crime in the United States happens when people do bad things to others or to property that belongs to someone else. It happens when someone breaks the law. When this happens, they can be punished by the government. Punishments can range from paying a fine, of money to getting locked up in jail. Laws are put in place so that people can be safe and feel safe, but unfortunately bad people still make bad choices and break the law.
