Criticisms of the War on Terrorism

Okay kiddo, you know how when you get hurt, we use a band-aid to cover it up and make it feel better? Well, some people say that the way the different countries are fighting against terrorists is like putting a band-aid on a really big injury.

See, after some people attacked America in 2001, the American government wanted to stop terrorists from attacking them again. So they started this big thing called the War on Terrorism. They went to other countries and tried to stop their people from doing bad things like hurting the United States.

But some people think that the way they are doing it is not very smart. They say that by going to these other countries and killing people, it doesn't really solve the problem. It's like if someone in your kindergarten class was mean to you and then you hit them back. It might feel like you have made them stop being mean, but actually, it might just make them even more angry and mean in the future.

Some other people think that the War on Terrorism isn't fair. They say that innocent people are getting hurt because of the war. It's like if you and your friends were playing and one of your friends got hurt and then you blamed someone else and then hurt them. It wouldn't be fair because that person didn't really do anything wrong.

So, some people believe that the War on Terrorism is not a helpful way to stop terrorists, and it's not fair to the people who get hurt because of it.
