ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Cryosphere

The cryosphere is like a big, icy blanket that covers the Earth's surface. It is made up of all the frozen parts of the planet, like glaciers, ice caps, and snow cover.

You know how when you put water in the freezer, it turns into ice? Well, that's what's happening all over our Earth in places where it's really cold. When it gets cold enough, the water freezes and turns into ice.

The cryosphere is important because it affects the rest of our Earth. When the ice melts, it can cause sea levels to rise and flood areas that people live in. It also affects animals that live in these frozen areas.

Our planet is changing and getting warmer, and that's making the ice in the cryosphere melt faster. We need to take care of our Earth and try to slow down how fast it's warming up, so the cryosphere doesn't melt as quickly.
