Cultural hegemony

Cultural hegemony is when one group in society has more power than other groups. This group gets to decide the values and beliefs of the whole society. For example, if a certain group of people decide that everyone should follow a certain religion, then everyone in that society would have to follow that religion. This group is the one in charge and their beliefs and values become the accepted way of thinking.
