Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated in Mexico and some parts of the United States. On this special day, people remember and honor their friends and family who have passed away. Families build ofrendas, or altars, which are decorated with colorful flowers, pictures of the dead, their favorite food and drinks, and other items they enjoyed in life. People also dress up in colorful costumes, have parades, and eat special foods. They come together to remember and celebrate their loved ones who have passed away.
