Debtors' prison

Debtors' prisons were places where people used to get locked up if they couldn't pay the money they owed. Nowadays, debtors' prisons don't exist anymore, which means that people can't be locked up for not paying money—it's against the law. So now, if someone doesn't pay money they owe, there are other ways that the person who is owed the money can try to get the money they are owed.
