Decommunisation

Decommunization is when a country changes its laws to stop celebrating or remembering things related to Communism. It usually happens after a country has gone through a change in it's political system and the people in the country don't want to remember their old Communist leaders. This means taking down statues, renaming streets, removing monuments, and changing laws. Decommunization can also mean punishing people who had important roles in the Communist government.
