ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Deinterlacing

Deinterlacing is a process that happens when you watch a video. When you watch a video, each picture you see on the screen is made up of lots of tiny pieces called pixels. When a video is recorded or streamed, the picture you see on the screen is made from lots of pictures that are interlaced together. Deinterlacing is the process of taking these interlaced pictures and dividing them back up into the individual pictures that make up the video. This makes the video look smoother and clearer because the individual pictures are more detailed and it helps the video run more smoothly.
