Serbia and Montenegro are two separate countries that used to be one larger country called Yugoslavia. Let's talk about the people who live in these countries, their demographics.
In Serbia, there are about 6.98 million people. That's a lot! Just like how you have different clothes, toys and books, people in Serbia come in different shapes, sizes and colors too. But most of them speak the same language which is Serbian.
Almost 85% of people in Serbia are Serbian, which is the largest group of people there. But there are also smaller groups of people like other Slavic people, Hungarians, Romani and Albanians. People in Serbia mostly follow Christianity, like Orthodox Christianity and Catholic Christianity.
Now let's talk about Montenegro. Montenegro is a small country with about 622,000 people. That's way less than Serbia! But just like Serbia, the people of Montenegro come in all different shapes, sizes and colors too. Most of them speak Montenegrin, a language that's very similar to Serbian.
Montenegro is a multiethnic country, which means there are many different groups of people who live there. Almost 44% of people who live in Montenegro consider themselves Montenegrin. But there are also many Serbians, Albanians, Bosniaks, and Roma people living there. Just like in Serbia, people in Montenegro also follow various religions, but mostly Orthodox Christianity and Islam.
In short, both Serbia and Montenegro are diverse countries with different groups of people who all live together in peace.
