Okay kiddo, imagine you were out at sea and suddenly you found yourself on a small island with nothing else around. This is called a desert island.
On this island, you won’t find any people to talk with or shops to buy things from. It’s completely deserted, but full of nature such as trees, rocks, sand, and animals.
Now, since you don't have access to your home, your parents or any other grown-up to take care of you, you must learn to survive on the island all by yourself. This means that you need to figure out how to get food, water, and shelter or protection from the sun and animals.
To get water, you can collect rainwater, if there is any rain. To get food, you could hunt animals or gather fruits and vegetables from the trees. Don't worry though, you won't need to fight any lions or bears. There are usually just small animals on these islands.
For your shelter or protection, you could use leaves or branches to make a shelter or put some clothes or cloth over your head to protect yourself from the sunburns. You could also make a big sign or signal on the island, so that if a rescue team or passing ship sees it, they can find and rescue you easily.
Living on a desert island might sound scary, but it’s actually a cool adventure that can teach you a lot about survival and nature!
