Detergent

Okay, imagine you have a shirt, but it's not clean. You want it to be nice and clean so you can wear it again. But sometimes just water isn't enough to get it clean. That's where detergent comes in!

Detergent is a special soap that helps clean your clothes. It works by using tiny things called "molecules" that grab and hold onto the dirt and stains in your clothes, kind of like little magnets. Then, when you rinse your clothes with water, the detergent molecules wash away along with the dirt and stains, leaving your clothes nice and clean!

Some detergents also have special things in them called "enzymes" that can break down tough stains like chocolate or grass. And some have nice smells to make your clothes smell good too!
