Devaraja

Devaraja is a style of worship in Hinduism. It is a type of worshipping god by making offerings and offering prayers. Devaraja involves people making offerings of flowers, food, incense and offerings of their own bodies like prostrations. The person doing the devaraja may also chant mantras or hymns of praise to the deity. Devaraja can be done for many different gods, but typically it is done for a particular god. Devaraja is meant to bring the worshipper peace and spiritual growth.
