ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Diaper

Okay kiddo, so you know how when you're a baby, you don't really know when you need to pee-pee or poo-poo? Well, that's where a diaper comes in! A diaper is like a special pair of underwear that babies wear that can catch all the pee-pee and poo-poo so that they don't make a big mess.

A diaper is made up of a soft layer on the outside, an absorbent layer in the middle, and a waterproof layer on the inside. The absorbent layer is really important because that's what soaks up all the pee-pee and poo-poo.

When it's time for a diaper change, Mommy or Daddy will gently lift your legs up and take off the old diaper. They will use special wipes to clean you up and put on a new, fresh diaper. And then you're good to go for a little while longer!

Diapers are really helpful because they keep babies clean and dry, even when they don't know how to use the potty yet. So when you were a baby, you probably wore diapers too!
