ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Digital holography

Digital holography is like taking a picture, but with a special camera that can capture more information about what's in front of it.

When we take a regular photo, we only capture the colors and shapes of the objects. But with digital holography, we also capture information about how light waves bounce off different parts of the objects.

This information is used to create a 3D image that looks like the real thing, almost like a tiny model you can hold in your hand.

It's like playing with a dollhouse, but instead of using physical objects, we use a computer to create the 3D model from the hologram's data.

Digital holography is used in many fields, from medical imaging to secure identification cards. It's a cool technology that helps us get a better understanding of the world around us.
