ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Digitizing

Digitizing means converting information from something we can touch and see (like paper) into something we can store and access digitally using a computer. Imagine you draw a picture or write a letter on a piece of paper, but you want to save it on your computer. To do this, you need to scan the paper with a device that turns the picture or writing into digital information, which can then be saved as a file on your computer. This process is called digitizing. It's like making a copy of your drawing or letter, but instead of a photocopy machine, you're using a machine that turns the paper into a digital file. Once the information or data is digitized, it can be easily stored, edited, shared, and accessed digitally using various modern devices like computers, smartphones, tablets, and more. Digitizing has made it easier to preserve and access important documents, images, and information, which can be shared and used securely from anywhere in the world.
