ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Discovery (observation)

Discovery (observation) is when you see something or learn something new. When you're a scientist, you look very closely at things to learn more about them. This is called discovery. For example, if you are looking at a band of ants marching in your backyard, you can take careful observations and make a discovery about how the ants travel. Or if you look in the night sky and notice a new star that you haven't seen before, you can make a discovery about it. Discovery is about using your observations and understanding the world around you.
