ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Diversity and inclusion

Diversity and inclusion mean we want everyone to feel welcome and treated fairly no matter what they look like or where they come from. Imagine a box of crayons - each crayon is different but together they make a beautiful picture.

Diversity is when people come from different backgrounds, like having different skin colors, languages, religions, or cultures. Inclusion means that we want everyone to feel included and included in everything, no matter what they look like or where they come from. It's like making sure we give crayons of all colors a chance to draw and color together.

We all have something unique and important to offer, and we build a stronger community when we celebrate and appreciate what makes us different. We want everyone to feel included, heard, and valued, and that's why we say that diversity plus inclusion equals belonging.
