Dome

A dome is like a big bubble, but it is usually made out of strong and sturdy material like concrete or metal. The dome's shape is like a half-circle, and it is often used as a roof for buildings.

Imagine you are inside a big cookie jar, and the lid on top is curved like a bubble. That's what a dome looks like! But instead of being made of glass or plastic, like a cookie jar's lid, it is made of super-strong materials to keep us safe and dry.

You can find domes in many different places. Some people live in dome-shaped houses, and some big buildings like sports stadiums have a dome-shaped roof over them. Domes can also be found in churches, temples and other places of worship.

One amazing thing about domes is that they can hold a lot of weight on top of them. That's why some people put them on top of big places like sports stadiums or churches. The dome helps spread out the weight, so it doesn't crush everything below it.

So, the next time you see a dome-shaped building, you can remember that it's like being inside a big, strong cookie jar lid!
