Duryea Motor Wagon
Imagine a long time ago, there weren't many cars like we have today. People had to find different ways to get around. One person named Duryea wanted to create a machine that could move without needing animals like horses to pull it. So, he made something called the Duryea Motor Wagon.
The Duryea Motor Wagon was kind of like a horse-drawn carriage, but instead of a horse at the front, it had a machine that could move it along. The machine was called an engine and it ran on gasoline, just like the gas that goes in cars today.
The wagon had four wheels and a steering wheel to help control where it went. It could go pretty fast, up to 12 miles per hour, which was really fast for back then!
People were really amazed when they saw the Duryea Motor Wagon because they had never seen anything like it before. It started a whole new way of traveling around, and eventually, more cars like it were made until we have the cars we know and love today.
