Dutch Disease

Dutch disease is a way of describing how a country's economy can be hurt when a lot of money comes into the country from another source (like money from a natural resource or foreign investment). This extra money makes the country’s currency more valuable, which makes it difficult for businesses in the country to export their goods and services. This, in turn, makes it hard for all businesses to grow, which can make it difficult for the country’s economy to become stronger and adults to find jobs.
