Gentrification

Gentrification happens when people with more money move into an area that has been around for a while. People with more money can often afford to buy bigger, nicer homes and they may also want to open new businesses like restaurants or stores. This can change the look and feel of a neighbourhood, and make it seem newer and cleaner. People who have lived there for a long time may not be able to afford the new prices, so they might have to move away.
