Dwell mechanism

Imagine you are playing with Lego blocks. You take one block and put it on top of another block. This is like how molecules in a machine interact with each other.

Now, imagine you have a special kind of Lego block that can connect to another block in a specific way. Let’s say it can only connect to a block that has a yellow dot on it. If you try to connect it with a block that doesn’t have a yellow dot, it won't work.

This is kind of like how a dwell mechanism works in a machine. Parts in a machine have to fit together in a specific way for the machine to work properly. The dwell mechanism helps make sure that the parts stay in the right place for a specific amount of time so that the machine can work correctly.

It’s kind of like when you are playing with your Lego blocks and you want to make a specific shape. You have to hold the blocks in place for a little bit so the shape doesn’t fall apart. The dwell mechanism does kind of the same thing for parts in a machine. It holds them in place for a specific amount of time, so the machine can work properly.
