ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Linkage (mechanical)

Linkage (mechanical) is a group of parts that are connected together to move in a certain way. Think of it as a system of rods, arms, and other pieces that fit together like a puzzle, and move in a certain way when something else moves. For example, if a car has a linkage connecting the brakes and the gas pedal, when the brakes are pressed, the gas pedal will move too. Linkage allows us to connect pieces in a mechanical system to make it work more efficiently and powerfully.
