Earth mass

"Earth mass" is a way to talk about how much stuff there is on Earth. It's kind of like when you talk about how heavy your backpack is or how much your dinner weighs.

But instead of talking about just one thing, like your backpack or your dinner, we're talking about everything on Earth all together -- the oceans, the rocks, the soil, the air, and all the living things, like plants and animals.

Scientists use the term "Earth mass" to mean the weight of all that stuff on Earth. They measure it in a special unit called a "mass unit," which is kind of like measuring how many apples there are in a basket, but for the whole world.

This can actually be really helpful for scientists who are trying to study things like climate change or how the Earth moves in space. When they know how much stuff there is on Earth and how that stuff is distributed, they can make more accurate predictions about how the Earth will act and how it might change in the future.
