Imagine the earth is like a big ball made up of different layers. Let's start from the outside and work our way in.

The outermost layer is called the crust. It's like the shell of an egg that protects the insides. The crust is made up of different types of rocks and is what we walk on every day.

Underneath the crust is the mantle. It's like the filling of the egg that comes after the shell. The mantle is made up of hot, molten rock that moves around like taffy. This movement causes earthquakes and volcanoes to happen.

Next up is the core. This is like the yolk of the egg. The core is super hot and made up of mainly iron and nickel. It's so hot that it's like a giant ball of fire down there.

There are actually two parts to the core: the outer core and the inner core. The outer core is liquid, and the inner core is solid. The outer core spins around the inner core and creates Earth's magnetic field. This magnetic field helps protect us from harmful things coming from the sun.

So to sum it up, the earth has a hard outer shell called the crust, a hot and gooey center called the mantle, and a big fiery yolk called the core that has a spinning outer and solid inner part.
