Earthquake drill

An earthquake is like when your toys shake and fall off your shelf. But sometimes, earthquakes can be really big and make lots of things fall down. So, just like we practice crossing the street safely so we don't get hurt, we practice what to do during an earthquake, so we stay safe too. It's called an earthquake drill. We learn to drop down to the ground, cover our heads and necks with our arms, and hold onto something sturdy until the shaking stops. That way we don't get hurt by falling objects, like furniture or books. It's important to practice this drill so we're prepared in case there's a big earthquake.
