ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Ecolabel

Hey kiddo, have you ever seen labels on products, like a stamp or a logo? These labels are called ecolabels and they tell us whether the product is good for the environment or not.

Let's use an example, when you go to the store and see a shampoo bottle with a leafy logo, that means the shampoo is made with ingredients that won't hurt the earth when the shampoo goes down the drain. That shampoo is a better choice for the environment than a shampoo that doesn't have a leafy logo.

There are lots of different ecolabels for different kinds of products like food, clothing, and even buildings. Each ecolabel has its own set of standards that the product has to meet, like using less water, less energy, or recycled materials.

So, if you want to help the environment, look for products with ecolabels. It's like a secret way to make the earth happy!
