Ecology is the study of how living things interact with each other, and with the environment they live in. It looks at the relationships between plants, animals, and people, and how they use, share, and need the resources of the environment. We might think of ecology like a giant web, with all the living things, like spiders and bugs and plants, connected by their links and needs for what the environment can offer them. When we try and understand how ecology works, we’re looking at how all these living things depend on each other, and how they come together to help the environment stay healthy and balanced.
