Ecosystem management is a way of making sure all the plants, animals, and people in an area live in harmony. It is a kind of problem-solving that helps ecosystems (the natural environment where animals, plants, and people all live together) stay healthy and balanced. When the plants and animals in an ecosystem stay healthy and balanced, people living in the ecosystem are also able to benefit. Ecosystem management looks at the plants and animals in an ecosystem and makes sure they are happy and healthy by looking at the different things they need like food, water, and shelter. People also use ecosystem management to take care of the environment and help it stay clean and healthy. For example, people plant trees to help provide shelter and food for animals living in the ecosystem and use tools like fertilizers to help the plants and soil stay healthy.
