ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Electric circuit

Okay kiddo, let's imagine you have a toy car with a little light bulb on top. If you want the light bulb to turn on, you need to connect the two ends of the light bulb to a battery or power source.

An electric circuit is like a pathway for electricity to flow through. It's made up of three main parts - a power source (like a battery), wires, and something that uses the electricity (like a light bulb or a motor).

Here's how it works. When you connect the two ends of the light bulb to the battery with wires, you create a loop or a circle. The electricity flows through the wires from the battery to the light bulb, and then back to the battery again. This is called a complete circuit.

If there's a gap in the circuit, like if one of the wires is broken or if the light bulb isn't screwed in all the way, the electricity can't flow through and the light bulb won't turn on. This is called an incomplete circuit.

So, to sum it up, an electric circuit is a pathway for electricity to flow through, made up of a power source, wires, and something that uses the electricity. And, if everything is connected properly, you'll have a complete circuit and things like light bulbs will turn on!
