Electrocorticography

Electrocorticography, also known as ECoG, is like putting a special sticker on your brain. The sticker has tiny little wires sticking out of it, called electrodes, that can listen to the electrical signals your brain cells make when they talk to each other.

Doctors and scientists use this special sticker to study what happens inside your brain when you think, talk, or move your body. They can see which parts of your brain light up when you learn new things, or when you're feeling happy or sad, or when you're trying to remember something important.

This special sticker is really helpful for doctors who are trying to help people who have problems with their brains. They can use the information they get from the electrodes to understand what's happening in your brain and figure out how to help you feel better.

So think of ECoG like a super power that lets doctors see inside your brain and figure out how to help you be your best self!
