Emmaus

Okay, so imagine you are going on a long walk with your friends. You are all talking and laughing and having a good time. Suddenly, a stranger comes up and starts walking next to you. Your friends don't recognize the stranger, but you start talking to them and they seem really nice.

The stranger starts telling you stories about how he knows a lot about a guy named Jesus who did amazing things like heal sick people and even came back to life after he died. You start to feel really interested in what the stranger is saying and you feel happy being with him.

Eventually, you and your friends get to your destination and the stranger says goodbye and walks away. Suddenly, you realize that the stranger was actually Jesus himself! You feel amazed and grateful for the experience and you want to tell everyone about what happened to you.

That's kind of like what happened in Emmaus. Some people were walking along when a stranger joined them and talked to them about Jesus. They didn't realize it was actually Jesus until he left, but they did feel happy and inspired by what he said. It's a really special and important story for people who love and follow Jesus.
