Energy efficiency in British housing

Okay kiddo, do you know what energy is? It's like the power that makes things work, like turning on a light or using the TV. But sometimes we use too much energy and that's not good for our planet.

So, in British housing, people are trying to be more energy efficient. That means they want to use less energy but still have their houses work properly.

One way to do this is by using better insulation. Insulation is like a big blanket that keeps the heat inside your house. If your house is well insulated, you won't need to use as much energy to keep warm.

Another way is by using energy-efficient appliances. That means things like a fridge, TV or computer that use less energy but still work well.

People can also install solar panels on their roofs which make electricity from the sun. This is called renewable energy and it is much better for the environment than using fossil fuels like coal, oil or gas.

So, energy efficiency in British housing is about finding ways to use less energy so that we can protect our planet and save money on our bills too!
