ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Entropy (energy dispersal)

Okay kiddo, so you know how when you try to clean up a messy room, everything gets all jumbled up and messy again eventually? That's kind of like entropy.

Entropy is a measure of how much the energy in a system is spread out and dispersed. It's a fancy way of saying that everything in the universe is always moving and changing, and as it does, energy gets spread out.

Think of it this way - imagine you have a bag of marbles. When you first dump them out, they're all in one place and organized. But as you play with them, they start rolling around and getting scattered all over the place. Eventually, it's hard to find all the marbles because they're so spread out - that's like how energy gets dispersed in a system.

In science, entropy is represented by the letter S, and it's measured in units called joules per kelvin (J/K). The more disordered things are, the higher the entropy.

So, in summary, entropy is like how messy a room gets over time as things get scattered around - except it's about energy dispersal instead of physical objects.
