Epoch

An epoch is a unit of time that is used to measure how old something is. For example, you could measure how old a dinosaur is by recording the number of epochs since the dinosaur was alive. An epoch can also be used to refer to a particular period of time, like the 20th century (1900-1999) or Ancient Greece (800BC - 300BC).
