Erosion

Erosion is when earth materials, like dirt, rocks, and sand, move from one place to another. This can happen because of wind or water, like when rainwater washes away dirt, or a river carries rocks downstream. Erosion can also happen because of ice, like when glaciers move and carve out valleys. Erosion can be good because it helps to make new land formations, like canyons and beaches, but it can also be bad because it can cause problems like landslides and flooding. It's important for people to take care of the land to help prevent erosion, like by planting trees to hold the soil in place, and not building on steep hills that could collapse.
