An ethnic interest group is a group of people who have similar backgrounds and cultures, like being from the same country, or having the same religion. The group comes together to work on achieving certain goals and to protect the rights of their members. Examples of ethnic interest groups could include the American Indian Movement, League of United Latin American Citizens, or the NAACP. They all work to defend the rights and interests of the people in their group, like fighting for equality and fair treatment in the workplace, improving educational opportunities, and preserving the culture of their members.
