Evidence-based research is when we look for scientific evidence (evidence) to answer questions or find solutions to problems. Basically, it means that we use data and facts (evidence) to come up with an answer or come up with a solution. For example, when a group of scientists are trying to cure a disease, they will look at data and facts (evidence) from all sorts of research to see what might work best. They will also look at studies done by other scientists to help them develop new ideas or treatments. Evidence helps us make decisions that are backed up by facts.
