ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Executive (government)

You know how when you're playing with your toys, your mom or dad tells you what you can and can't do with them? Well, that's kind of like what an executive does, but for a whole bunch of big people in charge of a whole bunch of important things.

In the government, there are different branches, kind of like different teams. The executive branch is one of those teams, and it's in charge of making sure that all the other teams are doing what they're supposed to be doing. They make sure that everyone is following the rules and working together to make good decisions for the whole team.

The leader of the executive branch is the president, who is like the captain of the team. They have a lot of responsibilities like making sure that people are safe, that everyone has what they need, and that the country is doing well. The president works with other people in the executive branch, like the vice president and other important team members, to make important decisions.

So basically, the executive branch is in charge of making sure that the government team is running smoothly and making good decisions for everyone.
