Falangism

Fascism is a political movement that began in the early 1900s and gained some popularity in Europe. The main idea of fascism is that strong leadership is necessary to keep order in a country, and it also has intense nationalist ideas. From that, it believes that a country should be loyal to a central ideology and have a strong military and strict controls over the people and their lives. Falangism is a type of fascism that was popular in Spain in the 1930s and 1940s. A main goal of Falangism was the uniting of all Spanish-speaking people and cultures, such as the Spanish in Spain and the Spanish in Latin America. All citizens of Spain were expected to be loyal to the nation, and religious freedom was suppressed. People who didn't agree with the ideology were often punished.
