ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Family economics

Family economics is all about how a family manages the money it earns and spends. It's about budgeting, saving, and spending wisely. For example, if a family decides they'll need to buy a certain item, they'll need to determine how much money they'll need to save up or borrow to be able to afford it. The family might also decide to put money aside each week or month, so they can save up for things they want or need. When it comes time to buy something, the family will want to make sure they're getting a good deal, so they can save the most money. Finally, when it comes to spending money, the family will need to be careful not to overspend so they can be sure they don't end up without enough money to take care of their needs.
