ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fan out

Okay kiddo, so you know how sometimes you want to share something with your friends, like a toy or snack, but you can't give it to everyone at the same time because there are too many friends? That's kind of like what fan out means.

Fan out is a fancy term for when you have something, like information or a signal, and you need to share it with lots of different things or people at the same time. Imagine you have a big fan at home that blows air in all directions. That fan spreads the air out to all parts of the room, right? Fan out is like that, except instead of air, it's sharing something else.

Let's say you have a computer that sends out an email to a bunch of people. That email "fans out" to all the people who are supposed to receive it. Or, if you have a radio that broadcasts music, the signal "fans out" to reach all the radios in the area that are tuned in.

So, fan out is really just a way of describing how something spreads out to reach lots of different things or people. Just like when you share your toys or snacks with your friends, fan out helps share information or signals with lots of different things all at once.
