ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Fetal protection

Fetal protection means making sure that a growing baby inside their mommy's tummy is safe and healthy. Just like how we wear helmets and seatbelts to protect ourselves from danger, there are many things that pregnant moms need to do to protect their babies while they are still inside them.

First, moms need to eat healthy foods like fruits and vegetables, and avoid junk food and alcohol that can harm the baby. They also need to take prenatal vitamins to make sure the baby is getting all the nutrients they need to grow big and strong.

Second, pregnant moms need to avoid dangerous substances like tobacco and drugs, which can lead to birth defects or cause the baby to be born too early. Third, moms should go to regular check-ups with their doctors to monitor the baby's growth and make sure everything is going well.

Lastly, moms need to take care of their own bodies by getting enough rest and exercise, which will help the baby grow healthy and strong. All of these things are important for fetal protection and ensuring that the baby is born healthy and happy.
