ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Field of sets

Okay kiddo, let me explain what a field of sets is.

Let's say you have a lot of toys and you want to group them together. You might put all your dolls in one group, your action figures in another group, and your board games in a third group.

In a field of sets, we group things together too, but instead of toys, we group sets of things. And just like we can't put a doll in both the doll group and the board game group, we also can't have any overlapping sets in our field of sets.

So a field of sets is just a bunch of groups of sets that don't overlap. And we can do all kinds of fun things with these groups, like add them together or find the parts of sets that are the same across different groups.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
