Fire protection

Fire protection is when people put in place systems or measures to protect people, buildings, and things from fire. Fire protection often includes smoke and heat detectors in buildings, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, and layers of insulation in walls or roofs that can prevent fire from spreading. Firefighters also wear special gear to help them be safe in case of a fire. By having all these things in place and working together, people and places can stay safe from fires.
