ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Flight length

When you want to go on a trip far away, you can either drive a really long time in a car or take a plane. A plane is like a big, flying bus that can take you really far in a short amount of time.

The length of a flight depends on how far you want to go. Just like how it takes longer to drive to Grandma's house that's really far away than it does to go to the store down the street.

For example, if you want to go to Disney World in Florida from New York, it might take around 2-3 hours on a plane. But if you want to go to Hawaii, which is very very far away from New York, it could take more than 10 hours on a plane!

When you're on a plane, you sit in a seat and watch movies or play games. Sometimes the plane stops at a different airport along the way to let other people on or off, and then it takes off again to go to the final destination.

So, the length of a flight is how long you'll be sitting on the plane before you get to where you want to go, and it depends on how far away that place is from where you started.
